Carrie Prejean


LOS ANGELES — Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean sued pageant officials Monday for libel, slander and religious discrimination, accusing them of telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial remarks against gay marriage.

Prejean sued California pageant executive director Keith Lewis and actress and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, who served as a co-director before resigning in protest of Prejean.

Prejean was fired in June by pageant officials who said she missed several scheduled appearances.

Her attorney, Chuck LiMandri, said that wasn't true, and Prejean was ousted because of controversial remarks in April during the Miss USA pageant that marriage should be between a man and a woman.read more

The daughters of Jaycee Lee Dugard - Starlet and Angel - are today learning to cope with the terrible truth about their father.

Jaycee has finally revealed to her daughters how their father Phillip Garrido was a rapist who held her in captivity for 18 years.Relatives said she broke the news to her daughters, aged 15 and 11, as they were distraught that Phillip Garrido was in prison.
Meanwhile a fragment of bone has been uncovered by cadaver-sniffing dogs on property next door to the Garrido home. read more

Cma Music Festival


Last night saw the” CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” air on ABC primetime and it was a great night, full of top-notch performances. According to apakistannews.com, the night also featured interviews and fan interaction, from some of Nashville’s best stars.

And for the first time, the annual music gig was expanded to three hours. There were performances from Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, John Rich, Martina McBride, Jake Owen and Darius Rucker. And that was just a few of the great performances that were lined up. read more

The title is a play on words, referring to both the slang term for marijuana and widow’s weeds, it also refers to the tendency of American suburbs to grow quickly and pervasively, with the dwellings and their residents being almost as indistinguishable as weeds; this is mirrored in the show’s theme song “Little Boxes” and opening credits, and is a recurring theme of the show itself. The theme song changes in the second season. The change consists of a different version every week.read more

The last American man to win a major tennis title was Andy Roddick, 24 Grand Slams ago. It's the second-longest drought in U.S. tennis annals, and the 27-year-old Roddick began to try to do something about it Monday night, when he stepped on a Slam court for the first time since his Wimbledon heartbreak, and looked no worse for the emotional wear.

On a brisk opening night in Flushing Meadows, Roddick pounded his way past Bjorn Phau, his diminutive and game German opponent, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. read more
